Reviews of Geelong

Rating: 3 out of 5
Dom - June 2007
Known as the sleepy hollow, and certainly lives up to its name. Good family destination with the eastern beach overhaul creating endless family fun. Gateway to the Great Ocean road and some of Australia\'s best surf beaches.
Rating: 3 out of 5
Felicity - November 2006
Lovely patriotic little town, where it\'s all about Ford cars and the Geelong Cats (AFL team). Scenic foreshore area that\'s recently been developed.
Rating: 3 out of 5
Trudie - June 2006
Geelong is a major regional city approx 1 hour drive from Melbourne. It is the last major town before you than are able to travel down the Great Ocean Road - one of the most scenic drives in the world.

Alan - April 2006
Regional City on Port Phillip Bay. It is approximately 1 hour from Melbourne. They is a fair bit of industry in Geelong, with car manufacturing plants and oil refineries. The main city area of Geelong is on the water and it is a nice place for a family day out, on the esplanade.
Rating: 4 out of 5
Trevor - February 2005
On Corio Bay, Geelong has many attractions but the most interesting was The National Wool Centre and Museum. It also has many National Trust buildings especially Merchinston Hall in East Geelong from 1856. There are many craft shops and the restaurants which will fill you up before you head on down to the coast .

Jo - January 2006
A big city one hour from Melbourne. It is a great town for the beaches near by and the local farmers in the area.

Joshua - December 2006
I hr south of Melbourne. The waterfront area is worth a visit. Last major city on the way to the Great Ocean road so stock up on supplies here. Home to Ford Motor Company

Melissa - July 2006
A nice town we went through on our way to the Great Ocean Road. Good place to go shopping and nice restaurants and pubs.
Rating: 2 out of 5
Jenia - August 2006
It is located 75km south-west of Melbourne. IT is very industrial and commercial area. It is a port city. The city is a gateway to many tourist attractions – Great Ocean Road and some of the best beaches for surfing. I don’t think it deserves a special trip to there only if you pass by.
Rating: 3 out of 5
Cam - September 2006
use to be industrial town but now gaining in popularity due to the close proximity to Melbourne. Beaches are good, and worth the visit.
Rating: 3 out of 5
trevor - October 2006
Nice down by the waterfront but less likely to stay there unless the footy is on - head further down the great ocean road.
Rating: 4 out of 5
Shirley - October 2006
The waterfront is pleasant with the famous bollard creating interest. Some good shopping and eating. Close to the beaches and inner bays around Port Phillip Bay.
Rating: 4 out of 5
Katy - April 2006
Geelong is a nice suburb on the water about an hour ourside Melbourne. The Aussie Triathlon Championships were on when we were there which was a bonus. Really nice town.

Heather - October 2006
The foreshore is a great area to hang out and play some ball, the grass is so perfect it\'s almost like turf. With cafes and restaurants all around, a cool place to hang out on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
